I'm at the point in the summer where I can only keep up with the picking and watering, but not the weeding, and I've been so busy that I haven't blogged or uploaded pictures or anything! I planted too much summer squash (want some zucchini?) and every 2 or 3 days I'm picking a gallon of green beans. There are little melons growing and the corn is well on its way as well. We picked the first two big tomatoes this weekend to put on hamburgers. The herbs are also growing and I am going to try some pesto to use up some of this basil.
The three oldest kids have gone back to school for the year already (don't you love year-round school? :-)) so that gives me a little bit of peace during the day, but I realized this morning that this baby is due in just over 2 months! Holy Cow!
Frugalgirl 1 turned 8 last month and was baptized this weekend so last week I cleaned house and sewed a dress for her to wear after the baptism. There's nothing like some good old-fashioned procrastination, huh? :-)
On another topic, my dishwasher has decided to take a vacation so I've been hand-washing dishes. Except for the back-log that is currently on the counter, I think that I'll stay on top of the dishes better this way. When I get a second to breathe I'll try and troubleshoot the dishwasher. I think it's just the spray arm on the top rack--clogged or something.

My dishwasher broke this
My dishwasher broke this week too! I am in awe of you and love that you have so much land! What will you do with the hay? I wish we had space to grow it. Our goatee would be thrilled. I had to buy some today and bring it home in the back of the van. Those bails are HUGE! How does anyone "chuck" them?
I love to read all you do. Truly inspiring!
the hay is currently stacked and covered
Waiting to be fed to the cows that may or may not live on our pasture this winter. If we end up with no cows, we'll sell it in the paper, which has never been a problem before.
I am on day 12 of handwashing dishes. We don't know what's wrong with the dishwasher but since we planned on buying a new one anyway when we finally remodel the kitchen, I am just handwashing for now. Which is a little tiring but all right if I do them regularly. We don't really want to install a dishwasher twice so for now we're just waiting.
